Ana Arévalo is M.Sc. Naval Architect and Marine Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and Master  in Management Development - PMD® from ESADE Business & Law School.

She has developed her professional career over the last 22 years involved in naval and logistics and she is highly specialized in ports.

Arevalo is currently Energy Transition Manager at the Port of Barcelona, a position that was created to accelerate the docks electrification project, which she is leading at the moment. She also participates as a professor at the European Intermodal transport school and she is member of WISTA and other different associations in the port logistics sector on behalf of the Port of Barcelona.

Jacob Armstrong is a sustainable shipping officer at Brussels-based NGO Transport & Environment (T&E). He currently manages T&E’s advocacy work on shipping in the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Regulation and the UNFCCC.

Prior to joining T&E, Jacob spent a year working for the European Commission, before joining the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) and the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP) as policy officer in charge of files concerning energy, the environment and blue growth.

His educational background is in history, with a specialisation in the history of political thought, at institutions including the University of Edinburgh, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Queen Mary’s and University College London (UCL).

Chief Operating Officer, SEA-LNG

Steve is Chief Operating Officer at SEA-LNG. Before taking up his position at SEA-LNG, Steve was Head of Energy at Xyntéo. He began his career as a Geophysicist in BP, subsequently working in a variety of business development, strategy, and analysis roles in the company’s gas, power, & renewables and energy trading businesses. Steve has also worked in the City of London, for a commodity futures market, leading the development of financial instruments for the energy sector and for management consultants Pöyry Energy and Caminus Energy, where he specialised in providing advice on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), gas and power market policy, and commodity trading and risk management.

With a university degree in Economics, Alexander has a background of 15 years in the energy and maritime industry. He did set up the Shell Marine LNG business in the D-A-CH countries and was chairing the German Maritime LNG advocacy platform.

Global Market Leader of Gas Carriers and Tankers, Bureau Veritas

Since 2012, Carlos Guerrero has been Global Market Leader of Gas Carriers and Tankers for Bureau Veritas, based in the head office in Paris. Within his main roles at BV, he closely follows innovations in all types of gas carriers.

Before joining BV, Carlos was largely involved in shipbuilding activities in several Spanish shipyards, working in the production department, technical office, and, ultimately, in the commercial department.

Carlos holds an M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Oceanic Engineering from the Technical University of Madrid, finalising his thesis in March 1998. He is a member of the Spanish College of Naval Architects.

Youenn Guillerm joined Vertis Environmental Finance as ETS Specialist/Business development for shipping early 2022. Amine has joined GTT as Business Development Manager in 2019.  He is responsible for developing LNG carriers, On-shore tanks and LNG as Fuel commercial activities. He is covering European, Middle East and Asian countries.

He started his career in the nuclear industry as Business Analyst within AREVA back in 2011. He moved to Natural Gas and LNG industry at GAZPROM Marketing & Trading in 2014 as Key Account Manager. He launched a dedicated business unit to address the French public sector after taking charge of major industrial players.

Graeme Maclean has over 20 years of experience developing solutions for the transport sector, now focussing on technologies and strategies for decarbonisation, particularly hydrogen.  Graeme began his career in the noise and vibration team of Ricardo Automotive and Industrial.  While this is a highly specialised topic, it touches many areas, leading to Graeme developing a wide range of expertise, working on projects across the globe.

Francisco holds a PhD Naval Engineer, an EMBA and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. He has develop his career in the energy sector, accounting with 18 years in the Oil and Gas sector working to REPSOL. He has helped to solve the logistics requirements, reducing costs and implementing new supply chain strategies. He has now recently shifted to Renewable Energy sector with SIEMENS GAMESA. His previous experiences involve Shipping operator, Bunker Trader, Charterer and Global Category Management positions linked to Marine services and Logistics. He has a passionate for development and innovation that is supported by his collaboration with the university sector with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and Instituto Marítimo Español (IME).

Head, Infospectrum Central & Eastern Europe, Infospectrum Ltd

Edgar Martin has headed Infospectrum's Central and Eastern Europe desk since 2010 and is based in Ukraine. He undertakes research, consultancy and due diligence work on shipping and related companies in the region.

Nacho de Miguel is Head of Sustainability at Peninsula, where he is responsible for Leading Peninsula’s future into sustainable energy. He has a special focus in creating and managing Peninsula’s LNG bunkering business with the aim to provide cleaner marine energy to its customers worldwide.

Nacho has more than 23 years of experience in the energy business, he started in the industry as Bunker Trader at the Spanish oil company CEPSA, moving then to the role of Fuels and Distillates Manager for Power Generation business at Union Fenosa (now integrated in Naturgy). In 2004 he joined Union Fenosa Gas where he held successive positions that included Head of natural gas and LNG contracts, Head of LNG shipping and Director for Business Development.

In 2020 he moved to Peninsula to be responsible for implementing the Company’s Sustainability strategy and its transition to cleaner fuels.

He holds a bachelor degree in Economics & Business Administration from the University Complutense of Madrid (Spain); a Master in Energy Business from CEE and has a diploma in business administration from IESE business school.

Head of LNG Bunkering, Naturgy

Antonio Miranda has been working for 20 years in the energy industry, at the utility company Gas Natural Fenosa, which became Naturgy in June 2018. During all this time, he has developed his career in different areas of the company, from international operations, going through the electricity and gas market in the retail market first and in large accounts later, to his current position as Head of Bunkering. He is Vice-president of EVO´s M&V Training Committee, President of Bunkering WG at SEDIGAS, President of Rugby Club Valencia and Past President of the Association of Energy Engineers Spain Chapter.

Head of Innovation and Partnerships, International Chamber of Shipping

He leads the innovation and partnership for decarbonisation work for the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). He developed and leads the Clean Energy Marine Hubs (CEM-Hubs) initiative, a joint initiative between the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), ICS, and five governments under the Clean Energy Ministerial. The CEM-Hubs is a global public-private initiative to facilitate the production of low-carbon fuels at scale for shipping to transport and use.

Mr Mojarro is a former Advisory Board member of the initiative Partnering to Accelerate Sustainable Energy Innovation of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He is a former Vice-Chair of the Committee for Energy Research and Technology (CERT) of the International Energy Agency.
He did his doctorate studies in SPRU and holds a MA in Industry and Innovation Analysis from this institution. His research interests are related to technological change/innovation and energy transitions, particularly on the relationship between 'infrastructure change' and new 'green fuels'. He has published in academic journals about the use of biofuels in oil firms, such as BP, Shell, Petrobras and Pemex.

Director of Sustainability Advisory, Houlder Limited

Simon Potter is Director of Sustainability Advisory at Houlder. He has a background in maritime decarbonisation, having held several senior corporate roles in the marine and energy markets. A naval architect by trade, Simon also has hands on experience in engineering roles, including work for shipyards. His expertise spans the offshore energy, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and defence industries. He is also passionate about the importance of energy efficiency and renewable and sustainable propulsion technologies (clean technologies) for the maritime industry’s decarbonisation.

Stakeholder Relations Manager, Ammonia Energy Association

Andrea Guati Rojo is Stakeholder Relations Manager at the Ammonia Energy Association, responsible for managing AEA’s internal and external affairs and the AEA certification scheme. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Psychology on the topic of Public Perception of Green Ammonia from Cardiff University (UK). Throughout her five years as a researcher, she performed the first-ever empirical study on green ammonia public acceptance.

 She also holds a MSc degree in Sustainable Energy and Environment, and a BA in Communication and Government Affairs. Andrea has worked for different international companies in Mexico, the UK and currently in Spain.

Director of Spanish Shipowners Association and UPM professor

Mrs. Elena Seco joined the Spanish Shipowners’ Association (ANAVE) in 1996 and has taken different positions on the Association until her nomination as Chief Executive Officer in August 2020.

Mrs. Seco holds a M.Sc. (1995) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master of Advanced Studies.

Currently she is also Assistant Professor of Shipping Economics and Shipping Law at Madrid Polytechnic University and and at the Spanish Maritime Institute.

Global Marine Commercial Senior Director, RINA

Pino Spadafora currently serves in the marine sector as RINA’s Global Commercial Senior Director and has been living and working in Northern Europe for 17 years to continually enhance the profile of the group throughout the region. His current responsibilities encompass group strategy and external corporate development, both commercially and technically.

In terms of group strategy, he is specifically responsible for the rollout across business streams into a global plan and ensuring consistency with the company’s vision and mission. My background is Master’s degree (UNIVERSIDAD POLITECNICA DE CATALUÑA), Industrial Engineering and Management. Before joining Asset Finance Department I was involve in CaixaBank in the Energy team financing renewable projects. From 2006 to 2014. Before joining CaixaBank I had other jobs like CFO of chemical company and consultant.

Senior Carbon Analyst, BRS Shipbrokers

Antonello Zanfardino has been active on the European carbon market for more than five years, first as a carbon trader on the European market, responsible for the origination and trade of environmental commodities: CO2 markets (EU-ETS), Guarantees of Origin, and credits used in voluntary schemes and later on as manager of a carbon team. This experience got him in touch with large industrials, utilities and aviation companies that have a compliance obligation.

In 2021, Antonello joined BRS Shipbrokers in Geneva, the oldest shipbroking company in the world, to help develop the company's newly created carbon department. His role in BRS shifted to a more analytical / advisory one and he prepares ship owners and charterers to face the upcoming European ETS regulation and helps them understand the opportunities that voluntary markets may offer with his carbon project development expertise.
