    Ana Arévalo is M.Sc. Naval Architect and Marine Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and Master  in Management Development - PMD® from ESADE Business & Law School.

    She has developed her professional career over the last 22 years involved in naval and logistics and she is highly specialized in ports.

    Arevalo is currently Energy Transition Manager at the Port of Barcelona, a position that was created to accelerate the docks electrification project, which she is leading at the moment. She also participates as a professor at the European Intermodal transport school and she is member of WISTA and other different associations in the port logistics sector on behalf of the Port of Barcelona.

    Jacob Armstrong is a sustainable shipping officer at Brussels-based NGO Transport & Environment (T&E). He currently manages T&E’s advocacy work on shipping in the Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS), the Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) Regulation and the UNFCCC.

    Prior to joining T&E, Jacob spent a year working for the European Commission, before joining the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) and the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP) as policy officer in charge of files concerning energy, the environment and blue growth.

    His educational background is in history, with a specialisation in the history of political thought, at institutions including the University of Edinburgh, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Queen Mary’s and University College London (UCL).

    Since 2019 he is the Global Business Development Manager at MAN Energy Solutions for the Four-Stroke Marine business unit. There he manages all external business development activities in the area of alternative marine fuels/propulsion. He is Chairman of the Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuels Industrial Alliance, initiated by the EU Commission, and also represents MAN in Getting to Zero Coalition and Waterborne.

    Eva María Pérez started her career at the Birmingham Business School (University of Birmingham), where she carried out projects in the field of industrial economics. From 2000 to 2004 she worked as Project Manager at the Institute of International Economics of the University of Valencia and in April 2004 she was hired as project manager by Fundación Valenciaport.

    She has worked for 20 years as researcher and manager of R&D&I projects in the fields of environmental sustainability of ports and shipping, net-zero strategic planning for ports, alternative fuels in the port-maritime-logistics sector, motorways of the sea, and feasibility analyses of transport infrastructure and service projects. She is the Innovation Promotion and Environmental Sustainability Director of the Fundación Valenciaport.

    She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Granada (Spain) and has a Masters of Science in Business Research from the Birmingham Business School, University of Birmingham (UK).

    She has good command of methods to carry out strategic plans, financial feasibility analyses, cost-benefit analyses, forecasting techniques, econometrics and good analyst skills. She has good communication skills acquired through her 15-year experience as a lecturer, participating in congresses, communicating with clients and presenting project results. She is currently coordinating the EU co-funded Green-C-Ports project integrating 12 partners in the consortium and aiming at providing a set of digitalisation tools, technologies and emission measurement sensors to support port environmental sustainability and performance of port operations in the TEN-T Core Network.

    Since 2012, Carlos Guerrero has been Global Market Leader of Gas Carriers and Tankers for Bureau Veritas, based in the head office in Paris. Within his main roles at BV, he closely follows innovations in all types of gas carriers.

    Before joining BV, Carlos was largely involved in shipbuilding activities in several Spanish shipyards, working in the production department, technical office, and, ultimately, in the commercial department.

    Graeme undertook training with the European Energy Centre’s Renewable Energy Institute prior to joining Ricardo Energy and Environment, within the Strategic Growth and Development team.  In this role, Graeme has focussed on development of new offerings in the areas of lifecycle assessment, transport decarbonisation and hydrogen and associated e-fuels.  Customers have included the IMO, international NGOs, UK Department for Transport and international automotive businesses.

    Nacho de Miguel is Head of Sustainability at Peninsula, where he is responsible for Leading Peninsula’s future into sustainable energy. He has a special focus in creating and managing Peninsula’s LNG bunkering business with the aim to provide cleaner marine energy to its customers worldwide.

    Nacho has more than 23 years of experience in the energy business, he started in the industry as Bunker Trader at the Spanish oil company CEPSA, moving then to the role of Fuels and Distillates Manager for Power Generation business at Union Fenosa (now integrated in Naturgy). In 2004 he joined Union Fenosa Gas where he held successive positions that included Head of natural gas and LNG contracts, Head of LNG shipping and Director for Business Development.

    In 2020 he moved to Peninsula to be responsible for implementing the Company’s Sustainability strategy and its transition to cleaner fuels.

    He holds a bachelor degree in Economics & Business Administration from the University Complutense of Madrid (Spain); a Master in Energy Business from CEE and has a diploma in business administration from IESE business school.

    Antonio Miranda has been working for 20 years in the energy industry, at the utility company Gas Natural Fenosa, which became Naturgy in June 2018. During all this time, he has developed his career in different areas of the company, from international operations, going through the electricity and gas market in the retail market first and in large accounts later, to his current position as Head of Bunkering.     Nelson Mojarro

    Head of Innovation and Partnerships, International Chamber of Shipping

    He leads the innovation and partnership for decarbonisation work for the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS). He developed and leads the Clean Energy Marine Hubs (CEM-Hubs) initiative, a joint initiative between the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), ICS, and five governments under the Clean Energy Ministerial. The CEM-Hubs is a global public-private initiative to facilitate the production of low-carbon fuels at scale for shipping to transport and use.

    Mr Mojarro is a former Advisory Board member of the initiative Partnering to Accelerate Sustainable Energy Innovation of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
    He is a former Vice-Chair of the Committee for Energy Research and Technology (CERT) of the International Energy Agency.
    He did his doctorate studies in SPRU and holds a MA in Industry and Innovation Analysis from this institution. His research interests are related to technological change/innovation and energy transitions, particularly on the relationship between 'infrastructure change' and new 'green fuels'. He has published in academic journals about the use of biofuels in oil firms, such as BP, Shell, Petrobras and Pemex.

    Simon Potter is Director of Sustainability Advisory at Houlder. He has a background in maritime decarbonisation, having held several senior corporate roles in the marine and energy markets. A naval architect by trade, Simon also has hands on experience in engineering roles, including work for shipyards.     Andrea Guati Rojo is Stakeholder Relations Manager at the Ammonia Energy Association, responsible for managing AEA’s internal and external affairs and the AEA certification scheme. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Psychology on the topic of Public Perception of Green Ammonia from Cardiff University (UK).     Mrs. Elena Seco joined the Spanish Shipowners’ Association (ANAVE) in 1996 and has taken different positions on the Association until her nomination as Chief Executive Officer in August 2020.

    Mrs. Seco holds a M.Sc. (1995) in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master of Advanced Studies.

    Antonello Zanfardino has been active on the European carbon market for more than five years, first as a carbon trader on the European market, responsible for the origination and trade of environmental commodities: CO2 markets (EU-ETS), Guarantees of Origin, and credits used in voluntary schemes and later on as manager of a carbon team. This experience got him in touch with large industrials, utilities and aviation companies that have a compliance obligation.

    In 2021, Antonello joined BRS Shipbrokers in Geneva, the oldest shipbroking company in the world, to help develop the company's newly created carbon department. His role in BRS shifted to a more analytical / advisory one and he prepares ship owners and charterers to face the upcoming European ETS regulation and helps them understand the opportunities that voluntary markets may offer with his carbon project development expertise.
