MARITIME WEEK AFRICA 2023 PROGRAMME

BUNKERING IN AFRICA: FRAMING THE FUTURE


Monday 23 January - Wednesday 25 January 2023

The conference programme (under development) will look at all aspects of oil supply, refining, shipping and bunkering, from the perspective of each region of sub-Saharan Africa, featuring leading players in each sector. The programme will include a variety of top-level presentations and vibrant panel discussions. It will also include a Women in Maritime panel that will examine how the role of women is developing within the context of the shipping and bunkering sectors in Africa.

Local issues:
 

  • The energy supply sector across Sub-Saharan Africa (developments and changes in refining capacity; fuel availability, access and supply; storage and delivery; fuel quality, sampling and testing).
  • Developments in South Africa's journey towards decarbonisation
  • Investments into South African Refineries, Fuel Supply & Fuel Supply Issues as well as Hydrocarbons.
  • Ports infrastructure
  • Developments in Western and Eastern Africa & Identify Business and Market Opportunities. 

International Issues:

  • Shipping's journey towards a zero-carbon future (decarbonisation, developments in alternative fuels and fuel sources - LNG, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, solar, wind, etc)
  • Environmental regulation (EEDI; SEEMP; EEXI; CII) and the impact on the bunkering sector and on shipping
