BUNKERING IN AFRICA: FRAMING THE FUTURE

The conference programme (under development) will look at all aspects of oil supply, refining, shipping and bunkering, from the perspective of each region of sub-Saharan Africa, featuring leading players in each sector. The programme will include a variety of top-level presentations and vibrant panel discussions. It will also include a Women in Maritime panel that will examine how the role of women is developing within the context of the shipping and bunkering sectors in Africa.

Maritime Week Africa will focus on:
Local issues:
- The energy supply sector across Sub-Saharan Africa (developments and changes in refining capacity; fuel availability, access and supply; storage and delivery; fuel quality, sampling and testing).
- Developments in South Africa's journey towards decarbonisation
- Investments into South African Refineries, Fuel Supply & Fuel Supply Issues as well as Hydrocarbons.
- Ports infrastructure
- Developments in Western and Eastern Africa & Identify Business and Market Opportunities.
International Issues:
- Shipping's journey towards a zero-carbon future (decarbonisation, developments in alternative fuels and fuel sources - LNG, methanol, ammonia, hydrogen, solar, wind, etc)
- Environmental regulation (EEDI; SEEMP; EEXI; CII) and the impact on the bunkering sector and on shipping
