PRIMED FOR CHANGE
The second Maritime Week Americas (MWA) of 2022 takes place in Fort Lauderdale in Florida, following the first edition in Panama in May. Once again, MWA will be an exciting in-person event that will bring together bunkering and shipping people from all over the Americas and the Caribbean and remind everyone why MWA is the largest and most popular bunkering conference in the region.
The Fort Lauderdale edition of Maritime Week Americas is focused on new and emerging fuels and technologies, an area that even the most die-hard traditional bunker suppliers are increasingly having to embrace as international regulations and consumer demand ratchet up the pressure on shipowners and charterers to reduce emissions and run on ‘greener’ more sustainable fuels. LNG, biofuels and other new fuels will be examined, as will the emerging supply infrastructure across the Americas and take up on the demand side.
Traditional bunkering in many of the markets within the Americas will also be covered, with a focused look at how these may have changed or adapted to new market conditions in the three years since Maritime Week Americas last came to Fort Lauderdale, in May 2019.
On the morning of Tuesday 4 October, there will be a ship.energy roundtable which will discuss shipping’s energy transition in the Americas. Open to all conference delegates.
The week will include the MWA Conference as well as several spectacular networking events that have for many years been a trademark of this fabulous bunker gathering. A Welcome Reception and a Gala Reception overlooking the Atlantic Ocean will again be complemented by a relaxing boat tour through Fort Lauderdale’s illustrious Intracoastal Waterway and a visit to the impressive Port Everglades, one of the most active ports in the United States.
1. ship.energy roundtable - road to zero
Tuesday 4 October: 11.00-12.30
The ship.energy roundtable at Maritime Week Americas will provide a platform for informed and highly focussed debate on the progress of shipping’s energy transition, with an emphasis on developments in North America.
Industry experts and practitioners will offer their insights on the alternative fuels that are already contributing to shipping’s decarbonisation in the region, such as LNG and biofuels, as well as the fuels that are at the start of the journey to commercialisation and widespread availablity, such as hydrogen and ammonia.
MWA conference delegates can sign up to listen to the roundtable discussion. Up to 45 places are available and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a place email: info@petrospot.com or register.

Covid-19 – Cancellation Policy
We are continuously monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Florida and across the world.
If you have already registered and paid to attend Maritime Week Americas 2022 but are subsequently informed by the authorities in your country of residence that you are not permitted to travel to the United States at the time of the event, you will be given the opportunity to transfer your registration to the next Maritime Week Americas, scheduled for Panama in March 2023. Should you find that you are unable to attend on the new dates for any reason – and are unable to transfer the registration to a colleague – Petrospot will refund your registration fees in full.
We are working closely with our hotel and venue partners to ensure that our clients are not exposed to any financial risk should they be obliged to cancel. However, any hotel cancelations will be at the discretion of the hotel, rather than Petrospot.
Petrospot reserves the right to require proof of vaccination status and/or a recent negative Covid-19 test and to request a temperature test on arrival at the event, in line with any local official guidelines.
