The commercial imperative: proving the business case for shipping’s decarbonisation
Pilot projects, cross-sector collaborative agreements, joint ventures and company start-ups have been the starting point for many maritime businesses’ decarbonisation strategies.
The Marine Energy Transition Forum will consider how the industry is faring in taking the next steps towards the commercialisation of early initiatives in shipping’s energy transition. What happens when subsidies and seed funding come to an end? How are companies being supported in taking their products and services to market? Are the ‘traditional’ providers of finance showing a sufficient appetite for investment risk when it comes to backing decarbonisation projects? Why are Final Investment Decisions so slow to come through, and why do so many initiatives stall at this point?
Featuring stakeholders from across the shipping and port sectors, METF 2025 will take a close look at how new and existing businesses can ‘survive and thrive’ in a competitive decarbonisation commercial environment.
