Shipping’s decarbonisation challenge - making change happen
Day 1: 5 october 2021
While IMO 2020 has been a gamechanger for the maritime sector, delivering on the International Maritime Organization’s 2050 greenhouse gas reduction targets will require technical and fuel innovation, commercial resilience, and cross-industry engagement on an unprecedented scale.
The highly successful inaugural Marine Energy Transition Forum 2019, organised by Petrospot and supported by the Port of Antwerp, was a first mover in the conference sphere – providing an important and realistic contribution to the rapidly growing debate surrounding shipping’s pathway to a low or zero carbon emissions future.
The event offered shipping and bunker industry stakeholders a chance to see what the start of this momentous journey looks like and what has already been achieved in terms of alternative fuels and propulsion technologies.
The Marine Energy Transition Forum 2021 will step up the pace – moving beyond the decarbonisation ‘challenge’ to focus on how established and new industry players are collaborating to deliver commercially viable and scalable ‘solutions’, with the support of research organisations, port authorities as well as political institutions.
Join us in Antwerp to hear global energy experts discuss how shipping will fuel its future and to discover what the marine energy transition really means for you and your business.
Organisations speaking at the Forum include:
