SESSION FOUR: MARINE FUELS FOR 2050 AND BEYOND – THE OPTIONS SO FAR
In order to deliver on the IMO’s 2040 and 2050 GHG targets, shipping will have to give up its dependence on traditional, oil-based bunker fuels. This session looks at some of the alternative fuels that are already established or are about to enter the marine fuel pool and considers their environmental credentials as well as issues such commercial feasibility and scalability.

This half-day tour of the port will enable delegates to see a shore power installation, provisions for LNG bunkering  as well as vessels using alternative fuels and propulsion technologies.
09:00 Departure by bus from the Port House
  Visit to the port’s LNG bunker station
10:15 The Nautical Operational Cluster – this element of the tour will include a visit to the Port of Antwerp tugboat; CMB’s Hydroville, the first hydrogen-powered passenger shuttle; and Brabo’s electric workboat
11:15 Bus transport to Reigersbos / De Zoute to see the shore power installation for inland barges 
13:00 Arrival back at the Port House
