Lesley Bankes-Hughes is a highly experienced editor, news journalist and features writer. After a number of years as business editor of Jane’s Defence Weekly, she worked for the International Stock Exchange and Euromoney Publications. She also established a specialist newsletter covering European corporate mergers and acquisitions, and later spent several years at Christ Church, University of Oxford, with responsibility for developing educational outreach projects.
At Petrospot, she has taken a lead on editorial projects relating to the marine fuels sector since 2007.

Llewellyn has worked in bunkering, oil and shipping since 1980, as journalist and broker, in London and New York, working for Argus, Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, Eperon Petroleum, Albion Oil and Energy Information. He joined MRC in Oxford to launch BunkerNews, before establishing Petrospot in 2003 to publish Bunkerspot magazine, news and pricing services, and highly-respected bunker and shipping books.
He has created and run globally-recognised events in 25 countries around the world, including Maritime Week Americas, ARACON, London International Shipping Week and European Shipping Week, and runs internationally-renowned training programmes, including the Oxford Bunker Course and BunkerExperience.

Glander International Bunkering
Sean Burgin has 15 years of experience in the shipping and marine fuel industry. His various roles across Europe include operations, trading and physical supply within organisations such as Maersk Oil Trading and GP Global.
The latter role focused on a new physical supply setup in ARA and the expansion of back to back trading desks.
Most recently Sean has been instrumental in the early growth for one of the largest buyers in the Fujairah market, as he is now based in the Dubai headquarters for Glander International Bunkering.
He manages all aspects of supply trading, risk management and claims handling.
Technical Sales Director, Forecast Technology
Stuart Hall has an engineering background with extensive hands-on experience of capital plant, fluid handling and consumables in numerous industries. This involved the introduction of new technology, training, management of change and improvement in profitability with achievements in team building.
Stuart is responsible for developing and leading the company’s international sales strategy.
Prior to joining Forecast Technology, Stuart has worked for market leading companies holding the positions of Sales Director, Technical Director and Managing Director. This necessitated the re-development of company business strategies to create greater product diversity and increased profit levels, including the development of multi-channel sales strategies. This led to improved effectiveness of the sales force and customer service levels.
Stuart graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from De Montford University.
Global Head Technical, Cockett Marine Oil
Colin Holloway’s career in the oil and maritime industry spans more than 30 years during which he has gained extensive knowledge of a broad range of technical, as well as commercial and operational activities throughout the Middle East and Africa region.
As Global Head Technical at Cockett Group, Colin is responsible for all technical aspects of marine fuel, reselling, petroleum products and services worldwide, while being in charge of the Group’s technical strategy and approach, including the implementation of new systems, tools, policies and procedures.
As part of his responsibilities, he overlooks the monitoring and updates of the Group’s accreditation to and in line with the most current ISO 9001 framework, ensuring all offered products and services meet international customer and regulatory requirements.
In his role, he manages the Group’s vetting process, selecting the suppliers and service providers based on a strict auditing protocol, while addressing the technical needs of the Group’s globally diverse client base.
Additionally, Colin designs and implements training programmes for the Group’s technical staff members covering all technical aspects of the business and contributing to the Group’s consistent high-level performance.
Colin started his career as a chemist at the Coryton oil refinery in Essex, England, and eventually relocated to the Middle East for the SGS Inspection Group, where he gained extensive product knowledge, including the full spectrum of petroleum products, petrochemicals and bulk commodities.
Further landmarks of his career saw Colin at DNV Petroleum Services, where he was introduced to the technical world of bunkering and the maritime side of the business, as well as at a local bunker trader and Fujairah-based physical supplier strengthening his comprehensive industry know-how.
Colin holds an MBA in International Business from University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), UAE.
Chief Commercial Officer, Neutral Fuels
Gary Hubbard is Chief Commercial Officer of Neutral Fuels, the largest producer of European-compliant net zero biofuel in the GCC. His focus is on providing high quality net zero fuel to the logistics, FMCG, hospitality and construction industries across the UAE, including the bespoke Neutral Fuels technology that dramatically improves the way transportation fleets are managed.
He specialises in supply chain optimisation and strategic planning, reducing client costs and enhancing their business operations.
Hubbard’s extensive international supply chain experience has been gained in the Middle East, North and South America, Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe.
He has worked in senior leadership positions for DAMCO, DSV, DHL, Geodis, Hapag Lloyd and Transmar Line.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Global Business Development Manager, Bureau Veritas
Gunnar Kjeldsen began his working career in DNV Petroleum Services where he spent 16 years in different key positions. His last position in DNV Petroleum Services was Regional Manager for the Middle East and Africa.
Since 2014, Gunnar has been with Bureau Veritas’ Marine Fuel Services. He has helped build a fuel quality testing program, VeriFuel, which is easy to use and modern for the ship operators. He is now a Business Development Manager for the Marine Fuel Services.
Gunnar has presented at bunker and shipping conferences, conducted seminars and also written on marine fuels. His extensive knowledge on Marine Fuels has helped shipping companies mitigate operational and financial risks as well as cost reduction on bunker operations.
Gunnar graduated from University of Maine, USA in 1997 with a bachelor degree.
Senior Associate, Stephenson Harwood
Mark is a skilled litigator with extensive experience in shipping and commodities disputes. Having trained in London and practiced there for the first five years of his career, Mark moved to Dubai in 2017 in order to focus on building Stephenson Harwood's shipping and commodities practice in the UAE. He continues to be heavily involved in arbitration and Court cases in England for clients based the Middle East whilst also becoming a specialist in matters before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts and arbitrations seated in the UAE.
He has acted in a range of bunker related disputes, including quality and quantity claims, storage claims and disputes concerning non-payment. He acted in a number of OW related cases in the UAE and has recently acted on a series of ship arrests in the UAE by bunker suppliers relating to the failure of charterers to pay for bunkers.

As Managing Director of Glander International Bunkering in Dubai, Morten Langthjem has been steering the leading marine fuel and lubricant firm since 2014.
His 25 years of vast experience in the shipping and bunkering industry includes his tenure at Peninsula Petroleum in Gibraltar and O.W. Bunker & Trading in Aalborg and Piraeus. Through his foresight, in-depth supply knowledge and hands-on experience,

Jonathan entered the maritime and bunkering market in 1993 first working at credit consultancy companies including MRC and Infospectrum. In 2005 he entered the bunker market directly with a role as Credit Manager at Peninsula Petroleum.
The past 15 years have seen him active in a number of credit, commercial and management roles in bunkering at physical supply and back-to-back trading companies. He has spoken at numerous international bunkering and shipping conventions on subjects including credit and strategic matters and has contributed editorial and analysis to industry media.
He is currently Head of Trading Marine Fuels at Al Ghurair Energy DMCC based in Dubai.

Søren took on the Chief Executive Officer role for ZeroNorth in January 2020.
Prior to this, Søren held different leadership roles in Maersk Tankers, including Chief Asset Officer, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and Head of MR vessels. Before joining Maersk Tankers in 2015, he was Vice President at O.W. Bunker & Trading.

Phillips is a Chartered Shipbroker, a Chartered Member of the Institute of Transport and a Member of the Energy Institute. He holds abachelors degree in Maritime Business with Maritime Law (First Class Honors) and a masters degree in Port Management fromUniversity of Plymouth, UK, for which he remains a Visiting Research Fellow. He is also a regular speaker on the bunker circuitspecialising in Marine Credit and regularly chairs courses both in Singapore and abroad.

Cem Saral is the CEO of the Cockett Group (www.cockettgroup.com), one of the world’s leading resellers of marine and petroleum products and services and has over 20 years of industry experience on marine fuels and fuel oil trading.
During his career Cem has been employed at various key trading and management roles by leading oil trading and marine fuel oil companies. He has a wide geographical coverage and direct working experience in Europe, Asia, US, Far East and the Middle East.
Having worked extensively at both marine fuels and fuel oil trading industries, Cem has a sound understanding of the entire fuel oil supply chain and physical trading on a global basis. As a further value-add, he has had the opportunity to employ these direct trading experiences into areas of business development, management and strategic M&A activities.
Prior to joining to Cockett, Cem was last employed as a fuel oil trader by Vitol, one of the world’s leading energy and commodity trading companies (www.vitol.com) and 50% shareholder of the Cockett Group.
Cem holds a BSc degree in Operations Research from Turkish Naval Academy and throughout his career he has attended a wide range of programs on trading, risk, finance and management.

Ton van den Bosch is a partner in our Corporate and Commercial Division and head of our Singapore office.
Ton is a corporate, restructuring and project development specialist with a strong reputation in the energy, offshore, logistics, ports, transportation, infrastructure and terminals industries in frontier and emerging markets in Africa, the Gulf and in Asia.
He has more than 12 years of experience with international law firms in Singapore, Amsterdam, New York and Jakarta and around 10 years of experience as general counsel, first of a global FPSO owner and oil & gas contractor and, more recently, of a global listed terminal operator headquartered in the Philippines.
Ton is a member of the board of the Dutch chamber of commerce in Singapore and a regular author and speaker on topics related to infrastructure, energy and ports. Ton is dual qualified, admitted to the Dutch bar, qualified to practise in England and Wales and he is registered as a foreign lawyer in Singapore.
Director and Senior Consultant, Channoil Consulting Ltd
Mark is a senior downstream oil professional with over 30 years’ experience of refining, trading, supply and commercial sales. He worked for 21 years at BP in a variety of commercial roles before joining Argus Media, World Fuel Services and, in 2017, Channoil Consulting.
He leads complex projects, with emphasis on strategy and commercial development in downstream fuels, commercial due diligence, supply chain transformation and bankable market studies.
He has extensive knowledge of the UK fuels supply chain and European biofuels markets.
