Petrospot is delighted to be holding the Oman Maritime, Ports and Energy Forum 2024 at the The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) is developed by the Oman Tourism Development Company and located in the Seeb area of Capital city Muscat, Oman. The OCEC is located in its own fully integrated precinct only four kilometres from Muscat International Airport. A business park, surrounded by a nature reserve, which is a haven for Oman’s exotic birdlife, together with parklands and a wadi (valley), are also part of this picturesque precinct.
The OCEC development comprises, site-wide infrastructure, five exhibition halls with over 20,000 square meters of column-free exhibition space, 33 associated meeting rooms and hospitality suites, multi-level car parking, an energy center, a 3200-seat auditorium, a 450-seat theatre, 2 ballrooms with capacities of 1200 and 540 guests, 20 additional meeting and conference rooms.

Tourist visa requirements differ from country to country. Visitors from 103 countries can visit Oman without a visa, if their stay is less than 14 days. Those who do need a Visa must apply for an e-Visa at least 4 days before travelling to Oman.

For delegates who require a visa support letter to attend a Petrospot training course, conference or seminar, please note that an administration charge of £50 will be applied to your course/event fee. A visa support letter will not be supplied by Petrospot Limited unless prior payment for the training course and/or event is made in full. Should your application for a visa be refused, a full refund of the course/event fee will be processed within three working days.
CULTURE & CUSTOMS
You should dress modestly in public areas including shopping malls. Clothes should cover the tops of the arms and legs (below the knee), and underwear should not be visible. Wearing tight-fitting clothes is likely to attract attention. You should not wear swimming attire in public areas, except on tourist beaches or at swimming pools.
It is possible for tourists and visitors to buy and drink alcohol in licensed venues, such as hotels, restaurants and clubs. The legal age for drinking alcohol is 21. It is a punishable offence under Omani law to drink alcohol in public, be drunk in a public area or to drink drive.

WORKING HOURS
The working week in Oman is from Sunday to Thursday. Most foreign embassies and consulates are located in Muscat and may close early, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. (March 22 – April 21)
