Location: The Sunborn - Atlas 5 Room
Lecturer: Nigel DraffinA one-day intensive course which looks at the potential benefits of using alternative fuels in the marine industry – and the reality of where the industry is now, and what practical steps will have to be taken to deliver the energy transition. The pros and cons of all the key alternative fuels will be weighed up, with a detailed focus on production, transportation, storage and delivery.

Christian is acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in shipping finance in Gibraltar, as noted by Chambers and Partners, the European Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Global Counsel 3000 amongst others. Christian will be exploring the subject of Ship Arrests, for which Gibraltar has become synonymous with due to its key geographical location.

- SulNOx will expand on the conference presentation, looking in detail at their unique fuel conditioning technology and the test data backing it up, that will enable vessel owners/operators to progress immediately towards a reduction in GHGs and PMs (Black Carbon) whilst also improving engine performance, fuel consumption and, potentially, CII ratings.

ROYAL NAVY VESSEL TOUR
Delegates are invited to a special behind the scenes tour of a Royal Navy vessel. Delegates must show a form of photographic I.D. at the gangway stand. Please wear your event badges at all times.

SITE VISITS*
Buses leave The Sunborn at approx. 10am and again at 1pm visiting:
- Bunker barges
- Tugboat
- 2 x ships in dry dock
- Port of Gibraltar’s vessel traffic services (VTS) control centre
*Each tour will last 3 hours and has a maximum capacity of 40 people. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
