GIBRALTAR - THE MARITIME HUB OF CHOICE IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
Hosted by HM Government of Gibraltar, the Gibraltar Port Authority, the Gibraltar Maritime Administration, and the University of Gibraltar Maritime Academy – and created and organised by Petrospot – this third edition of the biennial Maritime Week Gibraltar will once again provide a global showcase for one of the most efficient, secure, and professionally managed ports in the world.
A week full of information and networking activities includes:
Monday 26 June:
Ship & Yacht Registry Course, hosted by the Gibraltar Maritime Administration (free-to-attend but subject to invitation). Apply here.
Evening Opening Reception, hosted by HM Government of Gibraltar and Chief Minister the Hon. Fabian Picardo KC at The Convent, the historic official residence of the Governor of Gibraltar.
Late evening Drinks Reception, hosted by the Gibraltar Port Operators Association (GPOA) on the waterfront.
Tuesday 27 June:
MWG23 Flagship Conference, on board the Sunborn superyacht hotel, opened by the Hon. Vijay Daryanani MP, Minister for Business, Tourism and the Port. The one-day conference, Gibraltar – The Maritime Hub of Choice in the Mediterranean, will focus on decarbonisation, sustainability and environmental regulation as they impact port, shipping and bunkering activities.
The conference will also shine a spotlight on the many different maritime services available in Gibraltar. Leading international and local speakers will cover a range of key subjects based on activities carried out in Gibraltar (see programme).
Post-Conference Drinks Reception, hosted by Gibunco.
Evening Reception hosted by Diamond Sponsor Peninsula at the Bistro at Europa Point at the University of Gibraltar, offering the most stunning views of Africa.
Wednesday 28 June:
Breakout Sessions on board the Sunborn, each focusing one of the key subjects from the Flagship Conference.
The ship.energy Alternative Fuels Course, taught by industry expert Nigel Draffin. Highly recommended for anyone involved in supplying or buying marine fuels or involved in selecting which fuels to use in the future as the energy transition picks up pace. Register here.
Evening Reception at the Rock Hotel, overlooking the Bay and Port of Gibraltar, and hosted by Resolve Marine Group.
Thursday 29 June:
Technical site visits to bunker barges and other vessels in port, and to visit key sites in Gibraltar, including the Port of Gibraltar’s control centre.
