DISCOVER GIBRALTAR – GLOBAL SHIPPING’S ROCK-SOLID PARTNER IN THE WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN
HM Government of Gibraltar, The Gibraltar Port Authority, Gibraltar Maritime Administration, University of Gibraltar Maritime Academy and Petrospot are proud to announce the second edition of the biennial Maritime Week Gibraltar, a global showcase for one of the most efficient, secure and professionally-managed ports in the world.
Building on the huge success of the inaugural event in June 2019, MWG21 will demonstrate the advantages that make Gibraltar the rock-solid partner for global shipping.
Maritime Week Gibraltar 2021 is a highly informative, multi-format interactive event, designed to showcase the many shipping, port and maritime services offered in Gibraltar to a wider international audience.
The week starts on Monday 8 November with a full-day bunker training course, followed by an Opening Reception hosted by HM Government of Gibraltar.
Tuesday 9 November features a one day Flagship Conference that will highlight key international port, shipping and bunkering issues while shining a spotlight on the many different maritime services available in Gibraltar. Leading international and local speakers will cover a range of key subjects during the conference based on activities carried out in Gibraltar, including bunkering, underwater hull cleaning, crew change, superyacht management, ship and yacht registry, cruise operations, towage and salvage, ship repair and retrofitting, medical services, legal, financial and insurance services.
These presentations will act as short introductions to those activities, which will all then be followed up on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 November, with either a practical site visit (to a ship, barge, shipyard, warehouse, quayside, etc.) to see in person the hardware on display or in use and/or a lecture or seminar to delve deeper into each subject.
Among the top-level breakouts already confirmed are a seminar and lunch hosted by law firm Hassans. Breakouts on the superyacht sector, ship-to-ship transfer and a range of other key initiatives will be announced over the next four weeks.
Among the exciting site visits so far confirmed are guided tours of HMS Dragon, a Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer and the Gibraltar Port Authority’s AIS control room.
MWG21 delegates will also be invited to a high-powered evening reception on the flight deck of the Royal Navy destroyer. Several other spectacular networking events will also be openly available to all registered delegates.
Each evening will feature a spectacular networking reception at a unique venue in Gibraltar, all designed to showcase special aspects of the Rock and to facilitate Maritime Week Gibraltar’s primary aim of encouraging networking, contact making and, ultimately more business for everyone.

We are continuously monitoring the Covid-19 situation in Gibraltar and across the world.
If you have already registered and paid to attend Maritime Week Gibraltar 2021 but are subsequently informed by the authorities in your country of residence that you are not permitted to travel to Gibraltar at the time of the event, you will be given the opportunity to transfer your registration to the next Maritime Week Gibraltar, scheduled in 2022. Should you find that you are unable to attend on the new dates for any reason – and are unable to transfer the registration to a colleague – Petrospot will refund your registration fees in full.
We are working closely with our hotel and venue partners to ensure that our clients are not exposed to any financial risk should they be obliged to cancel. However, any hotel cancelations will be at the discretion of the hotel, rather than Petrospot.
Petrospot reserves the right to require proof of vaccination status and/or a recent negative Covid-19 test and to request a temperature test on arrival at the event, in line with any local official guidelines. We will also follow all local Government guidelines with regards to social distancing, participant numbers and sanitisation standards.
