TUESDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 2021
Panel discussion – Fuel supply infrastructure
This discussion will look at the global availability and supply infrastructure for LNG and biofuels. What lessons learned from the development of the LNG supply chain could be applied to the provision of future marine fuels? What are the availability and supply challenges for biogas, synthetic LNG, and biofuels?
Moderator:
Rhys Berry, News Editor, ship.energy
Panellists include:
Matthew Fisher, Manager of Business Development, Eagle LNG
Dag Lilletvedt, CEO and Founder, Powerzeek
Peter Keller, Chairman, SEA-LNG
Panel discussion – Technology options and infrastructure
Technology is already providing new propulsion and emissions reduction solutions. This session will look at the advances in shore power, battery power, wind propulsion and fuel cells. Can these technologies be scaled up on a global scale and across vessel segments - and what will be the timelines be?
Moderator:
Ian Taylor, Managing Editor, Bunkerspot
Panellists include:
Lorene Grandidier, Group Digital Transformation Manager, Cavotec

Presentation – Shipping’s journey to decarbonization
Ian Bown, Technical Manager, Lubrizol
Harriet Brice, Technology Manager, Lubrizol
Panel discussion – Bunker Suppliers
The bunker supply landscape will change significantly as new fuels come on stream in the run-up to 2050. Fuel suppliers that are new to shipping will enter the market, so how are the ‘traditional’ bunker providers contemplating their role in the energy transition?

End Day 1
WEDNESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2021
Panel discussion – Fuel supply infrastructure
There is much coverage of the low and zero emission fuel options that will keep shipping moving in the future. This panel discussion will focus on methanol, hydrogen and ammonia, taking a close look at how supply infrastructure will be developed and asking the big ‘global availability’ question.
Moderator:
Lesley Bankes-Hughes, Director of Publishing/Executive Editor, Petrospot
Panellists include:
Steven Lua, Group CEO, Unitrove
Matthias Classen, Commercial Manager, Proman Shipping
Presentation – Climate risk and energy infrastructure
Harri K. Kytomaa, Group Vice President & Principal Engineer, Exponent
Michael Banning, Technical Consultant Fuel Specialist and Surveyor, Exponent
Panel discussion – The role of maritime stakeholders in developing and supporting the new energy infrastructure
While much attention is focused on the development of alternative fuels and technologies, this session will widen the discussion to consider the key roles that other maritime stakeholders, such as ports and national agencies, are playing in facilitating shipping’s energy transition.
Moderator:
Lesley Bankes-Hughes, Director of Publishing/Executive Editor, Petrospot
Panellists include:
Bogdan Ołdakowski, CEO, Baltic Ports Organization
Brian Johnson, CEO, Maritime and Coastguard Agency

Joshua Townley, Market Specialist Marine – EMEA, Innospec Fuel Specialties
Presentation – Marine fuel notations
Olivier Cartier, VP Technical, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore
Panel discussion – Shipowners
Before shipowners can make major decisions on fleet renewal, they need to be sure that new fuel supply chains are in place on their trading routes and that the vessels they operate can run efficiently and cost-effectively on these fuels. Panellists will offer their views on future fuel availability, cost, and whether their ships may have to bunker more often and in different locations. They will also look at whether emissions reduction technology solutions will feature in their energy transition strategies.
