We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Marketing Executive at our Oxfordshire, UK office to take the lead in delivering effective marketing campaigns across our globally recognised maritime conference, training and publishing businesses.

Job description – Senior Marketing Executive

Petrospot Ltd is a leading international conference, training and publishing company in the multi-faceted global maritime sector. We organise some of the highest profile maritime events in the world and produce some of the sector’s most well-respected publications. The company has built a very strong international reputation among its many clients, the media, the shipping industry and related sectors, and governments worldwide.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Executive to take the lead in delivering effective marketing campaigns across all our events and publications utilising email, social media, SEO, advertising, direct mail and PR where necessary.

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Demonstrate extensive experience of developing and implementing targeted marketing campaigns (contributing ideas, creating content, managing production, and analysing performance)
  • Work with Petrospot’s Production & Sales teams, understanding technical content and writing engaging marketing copy to best capture the audience
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and be able to engage with senior maritime stakeholders at C-suite and government levels
  • Run pre-, during and post-campaign event analysis
  • Draft effective press releases and editorial content to promote Petrospot’s activities via other media outlets
  • Assess and analyse competitor activity and suggest ideas/strategies to enhance Petrospot’s own marketing strategies
  • Assist with website visibility, identifying areas for improved functionality and customer visibility and engagement
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and analytic skills, and produce regular reports on activity across communications channels
  • Update databases and using a CRM system



  • At least 3+ years’ experience in a B2B marketing role
  • A relevant degree in marketing is desirable
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills (phone, email, video conferencing and face to face)
  • Broad experience across digital marketing channels specifically LinkedIn & Twitter
  • An understanding of events marketing
  • The ability to work solo whilst also being able to collaborate with internal teams/colleagues when required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a diverse team across countries
  • Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Fast learner and quick to adapt to changing business priorities.


The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled and committed multi-tasker with an appetite to achieve business and career development goals.

The successful candidate must be a confident, well-educated self-starter who is able to learn about our industry quickly and embrace new systems and technologies.

He/she will be expected to progress to Marketing Manager within 12 months, subject to performance and meeting agreed targets.

The ability and willingness to travel internationally is an important element of the role. All candidates are expected to hold a valid UK driving licence.

Candidates are expected to be a native or fluent English speaker and writer. Other languages would be advantageous (especially Spanish) but not essential. All candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are eligible to work in the UK.


We offer:

  • A salary c. £30,000 (depending on experience)
  • The option for hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days at our North Oxfordshire HQ each week may be agreed for the right candidate
  • 23 days annual leave plus bank and Christmas holidays

  • On-site parking
