NPA Boss Lauds GPHA

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Moses Asaga, has lauded the efforts of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to service the needs of bigger vessels through its expansion project and the provision of desalination plant to supply fresh water to vessels at the Port of Takoradi.
These, according to him will go a long way to attract a lot of vessels to the country and also sustain bunkering activities in particular and the oil and gas industry in general.
Speaking at a conference on improving bunkering services in the shipping industry in Accra, one of the major players in the bunkering industry is the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) which he said has expanded its terminals in both tema and takoradi ports to service the needs of bigger vessels.
He continued that the creation of an oil hub in Takoradi for companies engaging in exploration activities as well as the desalination plant for the production of fresh water are some of the activities to sustain the operations in the oil and shipping industry.
The conference was organized by Petrospot Limited in collaboration with Ghana Oil Company (GOIL) the largest indigenous oil marketing company and a leader in the supply of marine gas oil in the country. Read more
