LISW15 welcomes new UK Minister for Shipping and Ports
Interest in London International Shipping Week 2015 (LISW15) is starting to build strongly following confirmation that the new UK Minister for Shipping and Ports, Robert Goodwill, MP for Scarborough and Whitby, is looking forward to his Maritime portfolio and in particular LISW15.
Jeremy Penn, Chairman of the LISW Steering Group and also Chief Executive at The Baltic Exchange, said: "We were delighted to be contacted directly by the Minister's office to inform us that LISW15 is firmly on Mr Goodwill's agenda. It's great news that the Government deems it to be high priority for the new Minister and we look forward to meeting Robert Goodwill in due course."
Meanwhile, members of the LISW15 Board of Advisors and Steering Group will have a chance to meet members of the international and trade press at a drinks reception due to be held on Wednesday 10th June. The organisers will use the informal event, to be held at The Baltic Exchange in London, to announce the stellar line up of international industry leaders confirmed as speaking at the official LISW conference.
LISW15, 7-11 September, will be the 'must-attend' event of the year, offering over 100 industry functions and unique networking opportunities for leaders across all sectors of the maritime sector.
