Petrospot runs two bunker training courses in Houston, Texas. The three-day Oxford Bunker Course (Advanced), from 21-23 October attracts delegates from the United States, Mexico and Jamaica. The one-day An Introduction to LNG Bunkering course (24 October), attracts delegates from the United States and Mexico. Both are directed by Nigel Draffin, Immediate Past Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association and Technical Director of LQM Petroleum Services.

The biennial bunker conference for the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp region, ARACON, takes place at the newly-refurbished Rotterdam Hilton on 2-4 October. It is opened by Jeannette Baljeu, Vice Mayor of Rotterdam for the Port, Traffic and Regional Economy, who between 2007 and 2009 served as Vice Chair of the European Liberal Democrats Party (ELDR). Organised by Bunker Events Limited, the joint venture between Petrospot and Vergo Consultancy, the conference attracts 130 delegates from 23 countries and includes a reception and dinner at the exclusive Royal Maas Yacht Club and a gala dinner at the historic Old Dutch restaurant.
