New Interferry CEO to make funding call at European Shipping Week

Mike Corrigan, the incoming CEO of global trade association Interferry, is to advocate greater European Union involvement and investment in the ferry sector during an address on the opening day of European Shipping Week, which takes place in Brussels from February 27-March 3.

Britain’s maritime sector can be ‘greater than we imagined’, says UK Shipping Minister

The UK Government’s purpose is for Britain’s maritime sector to be as great as it can be and to be “greater than we imagined possible over recent years,” according to the UK’s Shipping & Ports Minister.

And he issued a challenge to the industry to identify the key trade and export opportunities and what it thought it needed from this government to make them happen.

Maritime London Chief Executive to head up UK Ship Register

Maritime London announced that its Chief Executive Doug Barrow will be stepping down in March 2017 after 11 years in the role. He has been appointed as Director of the UK Ship Register by the Maritime & Coastguard Agency.
