Bunkers — An Analysis of the Practical, Technical and Legal Issues...

...is the world’s most authoritative book on bunker fuels. Covering almost every aspect of bunkering in a concise, detailed but easy-to-read format, it offers almost 400 pages of highly-accessible text, charts, diagrams and graphs which make it the most comprehensive training tool for readers at any level of expertise, knowledge and experience of bunkering.

Bunkers is a must for maritime lawyers, marine engineers, insurers, shipping and bunkering companies, fuel purchasers and charterers – in fact anyone involved in handling bunker fuels or dealing with expensive claims.

What the Maritime and Legal Press say about Bunkers:

‘All aspects of the industry are covered in detail, in accessible language. The section on legal issues and dispute resolution will be of particular interest to lawyers, given what seems to be a global trend towards deteriorating bunker fuels.’ Maritime Advocate

‘It's also good on the legal aspects… A promising addition concerns bunkering protocols, recording an important step in the guidance for transferring bunker fuels from a supply source to a vessel.’ Lloyd’s List

‘Lux and Fisher…have worked in the industry for a long time and really know their subject matter. What's more they want to share their knowledge, and it shows.’ World Bunkering

‘Fisher and Lux have meticulously updated swathes of the book to reflect the list of new regulations applicable to the bunker industry in recent years, including must-read IMO and EC proposals and legislature sections on sulphur and double hulls.’ Bunkerworld

’This book is a classic’ Marine Engineers Review

An Introduction to Bunkering

This new entry-level book, written by the vastly-experienced Nigel Draffin of LQM Petroleum Services, is an invaluable introduction to the bunker industry.

Assuming nothing, the book starts by explaining both the history and most basic concepts of maritime fuels and builds from there, providing an essential knowledge-base for anyone working in shipping or starting a career in bunkering.

The official launch of An Introduction to Bunkering was on 20 May 2008, during Maritime Week Americas.
