Preparing for the Revolution: The Case for Bunker Metering
A revolution is underway that could change the bunker industry forever. This in-depth one-day seminar brings the debate and the main protagonists to the Middle East for the very first time.
At The Bunkering Symposium 2008 in Antwerp, A.P.Møller / Maersk surprised the audience by announcing that it was in the process of installing flow meters on up to 50 of its ships to accurately measure bunker deliveries and attempt to eradicate, once and for all, the invidious practice of short deliveries.
Since then, following the presentation of this hugely popular seminar in Asia, Europe and North America, some of the world's biggest shipping companies and largest bunker suppliers are now paying very close attention. Some have already installed onboard mass flow meters, driven by the fact that this equipment not only guards against short deliveries but also protects against ugly conflicts and unnecessary disputes and can greatly increase operational efficiency.
