Petrospot Limited is a dynamic independent publishing, training and events organisation focused on the maritime, energy and transportation industries.
Based in Oxfordshire, England, Petrospot was established in May 2003 by Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes (Managing Director). He is supported by Ian Taylor (Director – Publishing), Luci Llewellyn-Jones (Director – Events), Lesley Bankes-Hughes (Company Secretary – Associate Editor), Luke Hallam Evans (Sales Manager) and Alison Jane Cutler (Design & Marketing Manager).
In October 2009, Petrospot opened a representative office in Singapore, headed by Sarah Morris.
Magazines and Websites
Petrospot publishes two leading international magazines, Bunkerspot and Cargo Security International. Each is fully supported by 24/7 electronic news services.
Bunkerspot is the world’s foremost source of information on the technical, operational, commercial, legal and environmental aspects of bunkering. Bunkerspot’s website offers free news, pricing and a specialist subscriber service and archive.
Cargo Security International is a unique source of intelligence covering all modes of transportation – air, rail, road and maritime – always with a sharp focus on security. The magazine and website are used by thousands of transport, cargo and security professionals, governments, legislators and military experts in more than 40 countries.
Conferences
Petrospot organises major international conventions, including the annual Maritime Week Americas, Oil & Shipping Africa and, via Bunker Events Limited, a joint venture between Petrospot and Vergo Consultancy, ARACON and The Bunkering Symposium. Between 2004 and 2008, Petrospot was contracted to organise The IBIA Annual Convention (Buenos Aires 2004, Hong Kong 2005, Monaco 2006, Montreal 2007 and Cape Town 2008).
Training
Petrospot organises highly successful training courses and seminars, including The Oxford Bunker Course, The Piraeus Bunker Course, The Istanbul Bunker Course and the Managing Credit Risk Seminar, as well as numerous shorter training courses, forums and seminars worldwide.
Books
Petrospot publishes the world’s most authoritative books on marine fuels, 'Bunkers – An Analysis of the Practical, Technical & Legal Issues', written by Chris Fisher and Jonathan Lux, and ‘An Introduction to Bunkering’, written by Nigel Draffin and available in English and Spanish. It also publishes Nigel Draffin's latest book, ‘An Introduction to Fuel Analysis’. A range of new bunker-related books is currently being added to the Petrospot book list.
